Overview

Andrea advises clients on virtually all aspects of trademark law and intellectual property-related agreements. She builds, maintains, protects, and brings value to brands through the strategic application of trademark law, including through assignments, licenses, and other intellectual property-related agreements.

As an associate in BFKN’s Intellectual Property Group, Andrea’s counseling practice includes developing global trademark protection and enforcement programs, prosecuting trademarks and copyrights, implementing global trademark protection and enforcement programs, analyzing trademark searches, advising on brand expansion projects, developing global trademark filing strategies, and counseling clients on right of publicity issues. Andrea also works with companies to conduct IP audits and develop customized corporate IP policies. Her practice also includes providing advice on IP transfers, preparing licenses, and conducting due diligence.

Whether they be large, multinational corporations, individual entrepreneurs, or startup companies, Andrea works with clients to develop and implement IP strategies aimed at reaching their unique business goals. Andrea’s clients have spanned virtually every major industry, including fashion, retail, transportation, retail and manufacturing, technology, food and beverage, real estate and financial, education, and others.

From a litigation standpoint, Andrea also represents trademark owners in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) and federal district court litigation and has experience representing clients in Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) disputes through the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).

Andrea is also a thought leader in addressing how artificial intelligence is reshaping the business and IP landscape.

While earning her law degree, she worked in-house alongside IP counsel for a major Midwest-based fashion brand.
