Commitment to Community
Barack Ferrazzano is strongly committed to community service through its BF Foundation which was created in 2005 to facilitate the firm’s goal to become more active in the community and dedicate time and resources to those most in need of our support. Through the BF Foundation, the firm is involved in community programs that provide our professionals and staff with opportunities to positively impact the lives of the less fortunate. One of those opportunities is our corporate partnership with Nourishing Hope. Nourishing Hope, formerly Lakeview Pantry, is one of Chicago’s largest and longest-operating hunger relief organizations, serving residents across the city for over 50 years. Beyond providing food assistance, the organization offers mental wellness counseling, social services, and advocacy to help neighbors thrive. With a new central headquarters, Nourishing Hope continues to expand its programs, reaching thousands of families each year and reinforcing its mission to nourish hope through food, health, and support for all Chicagoans.
Our firm’s involvement with Nourishing Hope has included hosting record-breaking virtual food drives, organizing family and firmwide volunteer days, sponsoring the Nourishing Hope Gala, and supporting numerous volunteer sessions across multiple Nourishing Hope locations. We remain committed to deepening our partnership and expanding our impact in support of the organization’s mission.
Commitment to Supporting Our People
The BF Foundation also supports our people and other charitable organizations through our Grant Program, which enables members of the Barack Ferrazzano community who are meaningfully involved in charitable organizations to obtain support for their causes from the Foundation. This support may take the form of monetary assistance, in-kind donations, or service opportunities, and may be directed toward either local or global organizations. Since its inception in 2022, the program has supported more than 20 organizations and contributed more than $35,000 in meaningful donations. The Grant Program accepts new applications each year, allowing the Foundation to provide ongoing support to those doing meaningful work while ensuring that the Foundation’s resources are continually reinvested into the Barack Ferrazzano community.
Mission Statement
The BF Foundation strives to inspire, motivate, and amplify the charitable impact of the attorneys and staff of Barack Ferrazzano with a special emphasis on addressing the underserved populations of Chicago and beyond. It seeks to accomplish this mission in two ways. First, the Foundation coordinates financial contributions on behalf of the Barack Ferrazzano community to, and organizes volunteer support for, charitable organizations serving needs the Barack Ferrazzano community has expressed a desire to support in common cause. Second, the Foundation also provides assistance to charitable organizations to which individual members of the Barack Ferrazzano community have demonstrated a deep connection to extend such individuals’ personal reach.
