Overview
Barack Ferrazzano served as legal advisor to LVMH in connection with the completed sale of the Marc Jacobs brand to WHP Global and G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. (NasdaqGS: GIII). At closing, G-III acquired the Marc Jacobs operating business and entered into a long-term license with a newly formed joint venture that is co-owned equally by WHP Global and G-III to own and grow the Marc Jacobs intellectual property, with WHP Global leading global brand licensing and G-III leading the operating business.
Marc Jacobs will continue to lead the brand as Founder and Creative Director, ensuring continuity of its creative vision as the brand enters its next phase of global growth.
Barack Ferrazzano's legal team was led by Corporate & Securities partners Peter J. Barack and Andrew R. Grossmann, along with partner Victoria Rusanova Cordiak and associate Gregory Klein. Intellectual property matters were handled by partner Scott J. Slavick and associate Andrea J. Tabrizi, with debt matters led by partner Michael Tomczyk and executive compensation matters overseen by partner Andrew K. Strimaitis and associate Christopher R. Boyd.
