Overview

Jack is a highly experienced commercial litigator and trial attorney. He has practiced for over 40 years in a wide variety of matters and commercial disputes, most recently relating to real estate and construction litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and large commercial real estate loan defaults.

Jack is a partner in BFKN’s Litigation Group. He concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation matters.

Jack has tried matters both to juries and in bench trials. He also has represented clients in arbitration hearings and is familiar with all means of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. Jack holds a certificate from the Northwestern University School of Professional Studies in Mediation Skills Training and is also a certified mediator for the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.

  • Represented lenders in large commercial loan disputes, including commercial mortgage foreclosures and suits upon commercial loan guarantees.
  • Represented clients in matters involving allegations of construction defects, design errors, and cost overruns.
  • Represented claims under purchase and sales agreements and indemnity contracts, business acquisitions, and transactional disputes.
  • Represented insureds in a variety of insurance coverage matters.
  • Environmental litigation, including five trials pursuant to the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act.
