Overview

Barack Ferrazzano's Corporate & Securities Group served as legal counsel to Postcard Cabins in the acquisition by Marriott International, Inc. of the Postcard Cabins brand. This acquisition marks a significant step in Marriott’s expansion into outdoor-focused lodging, supporting its planned outdoor-focused collection launching in 2025.

Formerly known as Getaway Outposts, Postcard Cabins offers nature-immersive accommodations in tiny cabins located within two hours of major metropolitan areas. Its portfolio includes 29 properties and over 1,200 cabins across the U.S. With modern design, privacy, and proximity to outdoor destinations, Postcard Cabins will be integrated into Marriott’s platform to enhance the travel experience for Marriott Bonvoy members.

"In joining Marriott, we're excited to bring the Postcard Cabins experience to a global audience seeking exactly what we offer—a place to slow down, disconnect from the everyday and invest in the relationships that matter most. What started a decade ago with a small group of believers in the power of spending free time in nature, has grown into a national movement, which we expect will only gather steam with Marriott's expansive reach," said Jon Staff, Founder and CEO of Postcard Cabins.

Barack Ferrazzano’s legal team was led by partner Andrew R. Grossmann with support from associates Puja O. Narain and Jacob Aubrecht. Partner Michael Tomczyk provided counsel on financing matters, while partner Scott J. Slavick advised on intellectual property issues.
