Overview

Barack Ferrazzano is pleased to announce that Litigation Group partner Nicholas W. Laird has been named to Law Bulletin Media’s “40 Under Forty” list of notable Illinois attorneys for 2025.

The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s annual 40 Under Forty list recognizes talented young attorneys nominated by clients and peers for their legal skill, professional achievements, and service to the community. Nick was selected from more than 1,500 nominations of lawyers across Illinois.

In his practice, Nick advises clients in the fashion, real estate, and motor vehicle industries on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, with a focus on achieving efficient, favorable results. He has secured case-dispositive victories at both the motion to dismiss and summary judgment stages in matters involving trademark infringement and other intellectual property claims, antitrust violations, breach of contract, and fraud. He also counsels clients in resolving disputes outside the courtroom, often achieving strong results without the burden of litigation.

Nominators praised Nick as a trusted and strategic partner, highlighting his dedication to client goals at every stage of a dispute. “Nick is an extremely strategic partner. He has been able to achieve excellent results in a very efficient manner,” said Tiffani McDonough, Senior Director of Litigation and Employment with Louis Vuitton Americas. Another nominator, Antonio Elias, Corporate Counsel at Volkswagen Group of America, added, “Nick is able to handle complex matters and issues that I would ordinarily only trust to more senior litigators.”
