Barack Ferrazzano Financial Institutions Group Partner Stanley F. Orszula will be the opening speaker at the Illinois Bankers Association Fall Compliance Conference. The conference will be held October 21, 2016, at the Four Points by Sheraton in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Stan will discuss Financial Technology partnerships ("Fintech") and the increasing importance of compliance. Banks are looking at new opportunities, many of which, under the Dodd-Frank Act, require all covered persons or service providers to refrain from committing unfair, deceptive or abusive acts or practices in violation of the Act. Many of these laws and regulations were written before the word Fintech existed! Stan will review how Fintech may affect your bank, and the lifecycle approach to compliance for lending products, as he outlines leading practices and common pitfalls.
