Overview

Louis Vuitton Malletier (Louis Vuitton), the iconic fashion and accessories house under global luxury conglomerate LVMH, debuted its first campaign with rising Japanese-American tennis champion, Naomi Osaka. This collaboration marks the beginning of a new and ongoing role for Ms. Osaka as an ambassador for Louis Vuitton, with future collaborative projects in the pipeline for the three-time consecutive Grand Slam champion.

Ms. Osaka first appeared in an asymmetric Louis Vuitton slip dress on the cover of Vogue's January issue, photographed by Annie Leibovitz. In her first campaign with a luxury fashion house, Ms. Osaka appears in the Louis Vuitton spring 2021 campaign, shot by creative director Nicolas Ghesquière. The tennis champion’s love for bold color and print is on display in her playful, kaleidoscopic minidress. “Aside from tennis, my most treasured passion is fashion, and there is no brand more iconic than Louis Vuitton,” says Ms. Osaka. “It is such an honor to work with Nicolas—he’s a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. To become a global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me.” (excerpt from joint press release)

BFKN served as lead counsel to Louis Vuitton. BFKN’s team was led by Corporate & Securities Group chair Daniel L. Dominguez and attorney Kait E. Kelly.
