Overview

It’s official: luxury icon LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) and mega-star Robyn Rihanna Fenty have confirmed the launch of Fenty, a new luxury fashion maison set to debut its first collection on May 22, 2019. The Paris-based fashion brand developed by LVMH and Rihanna will consist of ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, and accessories.

Rihanna will be the first woman to create an original brand at LVMH and this historic collaboration will be the first fashion house established by the group in over 30 years, since Christian Lacroix in 1987. Fenty will now stand alongside legendary brands Louis Vuitton, Dior, Celine, Givenchy, Fendi, and others as part of LVMH’s fashion division – and could significantly impact the future nature and structure of deals between celebrities and brands.

The launch of Fenty fashion comes less than two years after Rihanna collaborated with Kendo Holdings, Inc. – an innovative beauty brand incubator owned by LVMH – to launch Fenty Beauty by Rihanna, which was recognized as one of TIME magazine’s 25 best inventions of 2017. Barack Ferrazzano acted as a key advisor to LVMH in connection with the launch of both Fenty Beauty by Rihanna and the new Fenty maison, and continues to provide ongoing counsel relating to the Fenty brand (more on the launch of Fenty Beauty: newsroom-news-375).

Barack Ferrazzano’s team was led by Fashion, Luxury & Retail chair Daniel L. Dominguez, along with Peter J. Barack and Megan Ratia, and Intellectual Property Group co-chairs Wendi E. Sloane and Scott J. Slavick.
