Darlene concentrates on intellectual property matters. She has extensive and substantive experience assisting the Intellectual Property team in counseling clients relating to domestic and international trademark and copyright protection and enforcement issues and transactional matters involving intellectual property rights.
Her significant experience includes trademark clearance work, including conducting U.S. and foreign preliminary searches and coordinating and directing full availability searches in multiple jurisdictions, analyzing trademark search results, preparing and filing trademark and copyright applications in the U.S. and foreign jurisdictions, enforcement work, responding to official actions, and all aspects of maintenance of intellectual property registered rights. Darlene often reviews client intellectual property portfolios from a strategic perspective to assist in the development of global intellectual property protection initiatives. She has extensive experience effecting the necessary recordations in local intellectual property offices relating to transfers of ownership rights in registered intellectual property assets held throughout the world. Darlene also has significant docketing experience, including having in the past managed the firm’s intellectual property docketing function. Darlene frequently works together with the Intellectual Property team on high profile intellectual property due diligence projects.
Darlene's corporate experience includes all aspects of formation, maintenance, and dissolution of corporations, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies, including the preparation of routine and transaction specific resolutions, maintenance of official corporate records books, and corporate records database management. She also has experience in the preparation, searching, and filing of financing statements under the Uniform Commercial Code.
