Overview

BFKN is pleased to announce that Compensation & Employment Group Chair Andrew K. Strimaitis has been selected for the 2023 James F. Kidd Memorial Endowment for teaching excellence presented by Depaul University. Andrew has been an outstanding adjunct faculty member of the Master of Science in Taxation (M.S.T.) program for several years, and continually looks for innovative ways to engage with his students. This last quarter, he established a hybrid course that allowed his students to attend in-person classes on campus or virtually from anywhere.

As Chair of the Compensation & Employment Group, Andy leads the firm’s executive compensation and employee benefits practice with skill and insight developed from years of counseling boards of directors, compensation committees, and senior management of both public and private companies. Whether relating to the design and implementation of equity and cash incentive programs, nonqualified deferred compensation plans, and tax-qualified retirement plans, or advising clients during their mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings, and other business transactions, Andy is always at the ready to hone in on a wide range of issues with laser-like focus.

About the Award

James F. Kidd was a member of the Depaul adjunct faculty starting in 1989. As a lecturer in the Master of Science in Taxation Program, Jim was well-liked and respected by his students and made valuable contributions to the School of Accountancy. In August 1993, Jim tragically lost his life. In honor to his legacy and contribution, an endowment fund was established at DePaul. Each year since, the endowment has allowed the M.S.T. program to recognize both a deserving student and also an adjunct faculty member who has demonstrated teaching excellence.
