BFKN is pleased to announce Crain’s Chicago – a top source of news, analysis and information on business in metropolitan Chicago for decision-makers in the private and public sectors – has recognized partner Nathan Q. Rugg as a 2022 Notable Gen X Leader in Accounting, Consulting & Law. Nate is 1 of only 100 attorneys, accountants and consultants in Chicago recognized for making an impact in all corners of their profession.

This honor is extremely well deserved. Nate’s leadership in providing his time and skill sets to the underserved and raising resources and awareness for those most in need is part of what makes us at the firm proud to call Nate our partner. — Roger H. Stetson, BFKN Co-Managing Partner

Nathan Rugg is chair of the firm’s Bankruptcy & Creditor Rights Group. He has extensive experience in business organizations, workouts and bankruptcies and restructurings. Recently he represented a luxury brand retailer in its partnership with a national shopping mall in bankruptcy where the client operated stores in nearly 650 debtor locations. Rugg serves on the Volunteer Attorney Panel in the Northern District of Illinois and has written numerous articles for the American Bankruptcy Institute. He also is chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Committee.
