Barack Ferrazzano partner and Regulatory Section Leader John Geiringer will be co-moderator of "Holding Banks Liable Under the Anti-Terrorism Act: Legal Issues and Unintended Consequences," a webinar sponsored by the American Bar Association.

The Anti-Terrorism Act provides a civil cause of action for death or injuries caused by acts of international terrorism. Rather than targeting the terrorists who commit such acts, the majority of claims under the Anti-Terrorism Act target financial institutions which provide financial services to foreign terrorists. This webinar will examine legal issues with respect to the scope of application of the ATA against banks and the unintended consequences of ATA suits, and will discuss the verdict in the Arab Bank case.
