Michael’s practice primarily focuses on various banking matters, including domestic and international secured financing, acquisition financing and in-court and out-of-court restructurings.
In his corporate practice, Michael has led multiple secured and unsecured debt transactions as counsel for both lenders and borrowers. He has also negotiated and drafted many primary and ancillary deal documents for new syndicated bank deals and new secured bond issuances.
Michael has broad experience coordinating and managing local counsel across multiple international jurisdictions which have included advising public and private corporate clients on compliance with operating and financial covenants. He has also negotiated and drafted amendments to address changes in business operations and changes in law and has advised clients on the latest legal and commercial developments in the leveraged finance market.
Prior to joining BFKN, Michael was a corporate associate at the Chicago offices of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he focused his practice on representing lenders and borrowers in leveraged finance transactions. In his free time, he has participated in firm-wide pro bono, recruiting and mentoring initiatives.
