Barack Ferrazzano is proud to announce that Corporate & Securities partner and Pro Bono Committee co-chair Matthew A. Jackson has been recognized as the 2026 Volunteer of the Year by the Legal Aid for New Entrepreneurs (LANE). Matt will be honored at LANE’s Inaugural Fall Celebration on September 17 at Skadden.
The award recognizes Matt's sustained commitment to LANE's mission of removing legal barriers for low-income entrepreneurs so their businesses and communities can thrive. Through LANE's network of volunteer attorneys, Matt has provided free legal counsel to small business owners across Chicago on entity formation, contracts, and other foundational business matters, helping entrepreneurs establish the legal footing they need to grow with confidence.
Matt has over 15 years of experience representing clients in a broad range of corporate and private equity transactions. Matt has a unique ability to explain and address complex issues and anticipate the twists and turns of a transaction so he can adequately guide his clients through the legal and business implications.
