Overview

On January 14, 2016, the Barack Ferrazzano Financial Institutions Group hosted a presentation and open discussion with Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) Chicago Regional Ombudsman, Dan Marcotte. During his long career with the FDIC, Mr. Marcotte served as a Bank Examiner, Supervisory Examiner, Case Manager and Assistant Regional Director, and worked on policy matters in the FDIC's Washington, D.C. headquarters.

Mr. Marcotte described the role of his office, and listened as our attorneys discussed issues our clients are facing, including those related to the examination process, regulatory applications and broader supervisory policies. Furthermore, we discussed ways in which our attorneys can most effectively interact with the FDIC's Office of the Ombudsman to achieve the best possible results for our clients.

We will continue our efforts to strengthen our relationships with regulators such as Mr. Marcotte to assist our clients in navigating the bank supervisory environment, and to help them understand and resolve complex regulatory matters.
