On November 15, members of the BFKN Financial Institutions Group presented at the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), Division of Banking’s annual Examiner Conference at the agency’s headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin. The group presented on cybersecurity, anti-money laundering, compliance issues, vendor management and third-party relationships, and securities law considerations. The attorneys also exchanged perspectives with DFI officials about issues of importance to BFKN’s bank clients in Wisconsin and elsewhere.

About the Lawyers
John M. Geiringer is a nationally recognized banking attorney who advises financial institutions on regulatory, governance, and investigative matters. John regularly provides focused training sessions to boards and management on a wide range of legal and risk management topics.
Brent McCauley has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He began his career as an examiner with the Office of Thrift Supervision, where he also worked as a fraud investigator. After law school, Brent was senior regulatory counsel in the legal department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, handling complex regulatory and supervisory matters.
Katherine Fritzi Getz is a partner at Barack Ferrazzano who advises financial institutions on corporate, regulatory and securities law matters. Katherine Fritzi Getz regularly represents clients in connection with the review and negotiation of business contracts, including a wide range of vendor agreements and Fintech arrangements and partnerships.
Justin C. Steffen is a nationally recognized FinTech and cryptocurrency attorney who helps financial institutions navigate the legal and regulatory obstacles to innovation. Rob M. Fleetwood is co-chair of the Financial Institutions Group and concentrates his practice on financial institutions, securities, and general corporate matters.
