Overview

Barack Ferrazzano is pleased to congratulate Robert D. Nachman who was presented with the “Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service” by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, on May 1, 2018. This is the second consecutive year that the Court has honored the pro bono work of Barack Ferrazzano attorneys with this prestigious award.

Bob was honored at the 19th Annual Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award Ceremony at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in Chicago. The event featured Kip Bollin, President of the Federal Bar Association, as keynote speaker.

District Court Judge Robert Gettleman, who had become familiar with Bob’s work in other pro bono matters, recruited Bob to represent the plaintiff in Case No. C9836, Emperor Elder v. City of Chicago, and nominated Bob for the award, based on his good efforts on Mr. Elder’s behalf.
