Jeffrey Koh Re-Elected as President of the Chinese American Bar Association
At the Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago (CABA)’s annual Installation and Awards Ceremony on October 12th in Chicago, Illinois, Jeffrey Koh – Associate in the Corporate & Securities Group - was re-elected as President. CABA was founded in 1986 and is the first local bar association for attorneys of Asian descent in the Chicagoland area.
“We congratulate Jeff on his second term as CABA’s president, and support him in his continued efforts to make an impact within the legal community."
– Alexander “Sandy” Lourie, Chair, Corporate & Securities Group
Jeff’s dedication to pro bono work through CABA, with the Chinatown Pro Bono Legal Clinic, the Chinese American Service League and the National Immigrant Justice Center has distinguished him within the Asian Pacific American legal community. He became involved with CABA in 2014 and, under his leadership, membership numbers have grown and thrived. This is in part thanks to a number of new programs instituted by Jeff. One such program paired 60+ law students from eight Chicago-area law schools with CABA attorney mentors, creating a pipeline of new CABA members, exposing these law students to bar and service organizations within the Asian Pacific American community.
In addition to the many hours he commits to CABA, Jeff holds numerous other board positions, including roles with the Steppenwolf Theater, the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and the Chicago Bar Foundation. In his practice he represents public and private companies in capital markets, private equity and M&A transactions, and counsels clients on corporate governance and compliance issues.
