Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum & Nagelberg's 29-member real estate practice group is once again ranked by Chambers USA as the best in Illinois in its 2011 guide. The publication references the firm's impressive client list and "excellent reputation for real estate work," noting the group's recent success in representing various financial institutions in connection with the restructuring of commercial mortgage loans, worth more than a combined $1 billion. Both domestic and international clients have expressed satisfaction with the firm's work, which includes capital market issuances, acquisition transactions, workout transactions, and commercial real estate financing and refinancing transactions.

In addition to the firm's primary ranking, Chambers also recognized five individual firm attorneys -- Howard Kirschbaum, Suzanne Bessette-Smith, Howard Nagelberg, Mark Beaubien, and Dennis Ferrazzano -- as top real estate lawyers in Illinois.

To compile its rankings, Chambers conducts thousands of interviews of users of commercial legal services by a team of more than 50 full-time researchers. After the interview results are completed, law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in tiers from 1-6, with 1 being the best.
