Robert Shapiro on Politics Tonight - Alabama's Ban on Gay Marriage

Robert Shapiro appeared on CLTV's Politics Tonight to discuss the issues involved in Alabama's ban on gay marriage.

Rob discusses the constitutional issues involved after a Federal judge overturned the ban on gay marriage in Alabama resulting in a request by the State's Attorney General to the U.S. Supreme Court to block same sex marriage from going forward while the Justices consider a challenge to State gay marriage bans in four states. The Supreme Court refused clearing the way for same sex marriages in Alabama to proceed.  Rob also discusses the "Supremacy Clause" of the U.S. Constitution which, in part, provides federal supremacy over any conflicting state exercise of power.
