On October 3, 2019, Barack Ferrazzano Financial Institutions Group partner and Regulatory Section Leader John M. Geiringer served as a featured speaker at the Chicagoland Compliance Association 2019 Annual Conference. The event provided guests the opportunity to hear from knowledgeable industry professionals leading sessions on various compliance-related topics and network with fellow compliance professionals, vendors, and not-for-profit agencies.

John's session, “Banking Marijuna,” examined the involvement of financial institutions in the expanding cannabis-related industry. With 30+ states – including Illinois – legalizing marijuana at some level, this timely and informative topic proved pertinent for bank presidents and CEOs, directors, legal counsel, chief risk officers, compliance officers, and other personnel who may be involved with cannabis-related businesses.
