Megan’s practice primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital, and contractual matters and negotiations, with an emphasis on:
- Growth and venture investments;
- Strategic transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures; and
- General corporate counseling, including negotiation of commercial contracts and licensing agreements and general corporate governance matters.
Megan counsels both domestic and international clients in M&A and strategic matters, providing practical market-based advice and innovative solutions to help meet the client’s business objectives while leveraging subject matter expertise the firm’s other practice groups. In her venture capital practice, Megan serves as both advisor to entrepreneurs and privately held companies in structuring their relationships with investors as well as counselor to private equity and family office clients in negotiating growth investments.
Megan also has broad experience in advising clients in the real estate, luxury and retail and technology industries at all phases of their life cycle—initial fundraising and commercial partnerships through exit—with a particular emphasis on consumer product and services businesses.
Prior to joining BFKN, Megan was a corporate associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she represented publicly traded companies and private equity firms in connection with various financings, securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and investments.
Representative Experience
Representation of L Catterton, the largest global consumer-focused private equity firm, in the acquisition of Taxa Outdoors, a manufacturer of lightweight, mobile habitats for outdoor adventure. The investment enabled Taxa to drive growth by broadening its distribution and expanding its product offerings to reach more people looking for unique outdoor experiences.

Representation of L Catterton, the largest global consumer-focused private equity firm, in a deal that secured $80 million in Series B financing for VALOREO.
Serve as counsel to L Catterton, the largest consumer-focused private equity group in the world, in connection with its growth investments in leading consumer brands, including recent investments in NotCo, Hydrow, FlashParking, ThirdLove, ClassPass, and Il Makiage.
Representation of Assembled Brands – the company that finances emerging consumer goods brands – in a deal that secured $100 million in permanent capital from funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. Assembled Brands will use the funds to finance the next generation of consumer goods brands and to continue the development of its proprietary underwriting technology.
Representation of Getaway – an outdoor and wellness focused hospitality company – in a deal that secured $22.5 million in Series B financing. The round was led by a controlled affiliate of Starwood Capital Group, with continued support from L Catterton and other existing shareholders.

Representation of Kendo Holdings, Inc., a cosmetics and beauty incubator company owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton and affiliated with Sephora, in strategic transactions related to the formation and launch of the brand Fenty Beauty by Rihanna.
Representation of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH) in strategic corporate and intellectual property transactions related to the formation and launch of Fenty by Rihanna, a new luxury fashion maison of ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, and accessories. The historic collaboration will make Rihanna the first woman to create an original LVMH brand, and Fenty the first LVMH-established fashion house in more than 30 years (Announced: May 2019).
Representation of Pendulum, a strategic growth investing and advisory platform designed for founders and leaders of color, in a deal that raised $35 million in Series B funding for Saltbox, Inc., the flexible co-warehousing and small business logistics pioneer.
