Annaliese is a member of the firm’s automotive group. She is also a senior member of the intellectual property group and a member of the litigation group.
Annaliese focuses a significant portion of her practice on representing automobile manufacturers in intellectual property matters. She regularly counsels manufacturer clients on non-patent intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright issues, trademark licensing, trademark enforcement, intellectual property litigation and the intellectual property aspects of corporate transactions. She regularly assists clients in identifying, protecting and preserving their intellectual property assets, including seeking registration of trademarks in the United States as well as internationally, and taking action against the infringement of trademarks, copyrights, trade dress and trade secrets. Annaliese assists in the management of worldwide trademark portfolios for a number of the firm’s clients.
Annaliese’s litigation experience includes representing clients in state and federal courts nationwide, as well as in arbitration, mediation and administrative proceedings. Annaliese is experienced in all phases of dispute resolution, including pre-litigation client counseling, injunction proceedings, and through and including trial and appeals. She is also a trained mediator, and relies on her mediation and negotiation skills to resolve disputes early in the process.
In addition to working on automotive intellectual property matters, Annaliese actively participates in the firm’s pro bono initiative. She regularly represents clients seeking political asylum on gender-related grounds. Annaliese also formerly served as the partner in charge of recruiting for the firm.
Representative Matters
- Represented trademark owner in trademark infringement action, including three-day preliminary injunction hearing
- Negotiated and drafted trademark license agreements for product placement for manufacturer clients
- Regularly represent manufacturer clients in trademark enforcement matters, including internet and domain name disputes
- Enforced trademarks of cosmetic manufacturer client, including the prompt cease-and-desist of competitor’s trademark infringement
- Enforced foreign copyright of Danish art, including the cease-and-desist of counterfeit manufacture of goods and recovery of damages
- Regularly counsel clients in trademark registration matters
