Adam Oyebanji

Adam Oyebanji is a commercial trial lawyer with extensive litigation experience in both the United States and Great Britain. Trained originally as a barrister in England, Adam has tried several hundred cases of varying size and scope on behalf of individuals, municipalities and large corporations involving issues of breach of contract, fraud, products liability, due process, torts, property rights and others. His experience includes the following:
- Representing corporations in a variety of commercial disputes, often involving cross border transactions and/or arbitrations
- Representing corporations in both rule of reason and per se antitrust disputes
- Freezing assets held abroad to prevent their dissipation prior to trial
- Defending broker-dealers in NASD arbitrations
- Defending various corporations in securities class actions
- Investigating and litigating allegations of white collar fraud
- Representing defendants and plaintiffs in restraint of trade matters in both the U.S. and U.K.
- Trial and appellate representation of defendants in product liability cases
- Representing defendants in currency hedging dispute involving French and German counterparties
- Pro bono criminal trial and appellate work
Adam’s international background makes him ideally equipped to deal with many of the transnational issues facing modern corporations. In addition to trial experience in the United States and Great Britain, Adam has in the course of his practice become familiar with the legal systems of Australia, Botswana, Canada, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, the Republic of South Africa, Scotland and various parts of the Caribbean.
Adam is also an adjunct professor at DePaul Law School, where he teaches Comparative Law.
