Bill concentrates his practice on commercial real estate.  He has experience on a broad range of real estate matters involving commercial properties throughout the U.S., focusing primarily on real estate financing, leasing and acquisitions.  He has represented institutional lenders, REITs and public companies on mortgage loans, construction loans, portfolio financings, loan work-outs, foreclosures, joint ventures, leasing, and acquisitions and dispositions.  He has experience working on a variety of property types, including shopping centers, Class A commercial office buildings, golf courses, condominiums, assisted living facilities, hospitals and medical office buildings.

  • Real Estate Financing

    Represented a variety of banks and other institutional lenders in mortgage loans, construction loans, mezzanine loans and portfolio financings for commercial office buildings, shopping centers, golf courses, condominiums and assisted living facilities throughout the United States representing an aggregate indebtedness of billions of dollars. Representative projects include mezzanine construction loan financing for 353 North Clark in Chicago, term loan mortgage financing for 333 Market Street in San Francisco, and the Campanile Building in Atlanta, and construction loan financing for The Landing shopping center in Renton, Washington.

  • Real Estate Acquisitions and Joint Ventures

    Represented a variety of clients, including REITs and developers, in the acquisition and development of commercial and industrial properties throughout the United States, including shopping centers, Class A commercial office buildings, industrial warehouses and manufacturing facilities, assisted living facilities, hospitals and medical office buildings. Represented a domestic client in a $1.6 billion joint venture with the Government of Singapore involving the pooling of Class A commercial office buildings throughout the United States.

  • Secured Loan Workouts and Foreclosures

    Represented major banks in a variety of mortgage loan and construction loan workouts and foreclosures involving commercial and residential developments throughout the United States representing an aggregate indebtedness of over a billion of dollars.

  • Leasing and Dispositions

    Represented a variety of clients, including REITs and developers, in the leasing and disposition of commercial, retail and industrial properties and premises, assisted living facilities, hospitals and medical office buildings throughout the United States. Represented a domestic client in the leasing and ultimate sale of the Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky to the University of Kentucky.
