BFKN is pleased to announce the addition of four new associates to the firm. Associate Maxwell F. Maharry rejoins BFKN’s Real Estate Group after previously serving as a summer associate in 2022, while the Litigation Group continues its expansion with the hiring of Zoe Brumfield-Meyers Cross, Kyle J. Davis, and M. Olivia Glass.
Max provides counsel in a wide variety of commercial real estate transactions. He works closely and enthusiastically with clients to identify, communicate, and resolve legal issues—all with the aim of realizing client goals. Max concentrates his practice on the sale, acquisition, development, financing, and leasing of various types of commercial real estate properties. He represents real estate investment trusts (REITs), corporations, commercial and investment banks, and other real estate investors and developers in various transactions. His practice further encompasses representing landlords and tenants in commercial office, industrial, and retail leasing transactions.

Zoe focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes, including class actions, multidistrict litigations, and other coordinated proceedings. She has represented clients in a diverse range of industries—including motor vehicle manufacturers, financial institutions, and consumer goods companies—in matters related to products liability, false advertising, ERISA, employment disputes, and breach of contract. In addition, Zoe has experience advising clients on best practices for efficient and effective eDiscovery.
Kyle concentrates his practice on a wide range of complex litigation matters. Before joining BFKN, Kyle was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Gerald B. Tjoflat of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. During law school, Kyle gained valuable litigation experience at the Washington University School of Law Appellate Clinic, where he was part of a team that was responsible for handling all aspects of their client’s appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, including brief drafting, client communication, research, and oral argument.
Olivia works on a wide range of complex litigation matters, including real estate disputes, shareholder litigation, and motor vehicle franchise disputes. Prior to joining BFKN, Olivia clerked for the Honorable R. Guy Cole, Jr., on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. During law school, Olivia gained valuable litigation experience working as a law clerk with the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, where she prepared and drafted a pre-trial motion to suppress and participated in Trial Practice Groups.
