Diversity

Diversity is a core value of Barack Ferrazzano, and the firm is committed to diversity in the broadest sense of the word.  We actively recruit talented professionals and staff based on commitment to personal and professional excellence, and we welcome people of different backgrounds and perspectives. Our commitment to diversity and fostering a welcoming culture attracts the most qualified candidates to the firm and creates a rewarding and fulfilling environment for our people.  Diversity fosters an atmosphere in which a variety of ideas can be fully examined and tested, ultimately producing the best results for our clients.  The firm’s Diversity Committee oversees and facilitates these efforts, often working closely with the Women’s Committee.

The firm actively recruits women and members of minority racial, ethnic, and religious communities for professional and staff positions.  The firm is also committed to supporting historically underrepresented communities in the legal profession at-large.  The firm is an active member of the Chicago Committee on Minorities in Large Law Firms, which serves as yet another example of the firm’s ability to compete at the very top of the legal profession while maintaining a size consistent with its culture.  The firm is a corporate sponsor of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners and a signatory to the Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women’s "Call to Action."  Barack Ferrazzano was recentlyrecognized as one of ten signatory firms with the highest percentages of women partners.

The firm also participates annually in the Cook County Bar Association’s Minority Law Student Job Fair, which attracts talented minority law school students from across the country.  The firm’s involvement in these efforts involves significant financial and non-financial support to underrepresented communities, while also advancing the firm’s mission of furthering access to legal assistance, information, and representation for all.
